REFLECTION ON 2012

As we begin a new year, we want to take the time to reflect on our successes and accomplishments in 2012 as an organization.

New Deposits
Our unmatched R&D staff continuously develops and refines new deposits and coatings to provide the highest quality surface enhancement materials. Our primary focus is to develop solutions that pose virtually no harm to operators or the environment. Our Nickel-Tungsten deposit is a hexavalent free alternative to chromium for repair and OEM applications that require exceptionally hard plating.

Shows and Conferences
We had a successful year attending many conferences and shows such as:
OTC, SUR/FIN, HELI EXPO, AEROMAT, ASETS Defense, and POWER GEN International. At conferences around the U.S., we dedicated our Technical and R&D personnel to speak about our ‘green’ deposits and unique plating process.

Successful Applications
Our team completed countless applications that became success stories for our customers. This year we helped major companies in the oil and gas, power generation, and aerospace industries. Additionally, we partnered with the military to help make their missions successful. We would not be able to accomplish these without our team of Territory Managers, technical staff and our expert team of plating technicians.

 NORMAN HAY ACQUIRES SIFCO ASC

nheSIFCO ASC is pleased to announce that the company has been acquired by The Norman Hay Group. The acquisition of SIFCO ASC from SIFCO Industries of  Cleveland, Ohio includes SIFCO ASC LLC (USA), SIFCO ASC UK,  SIFCO ASC France and SIFCO ASC Sweden.

Vic Bellanti, Chief Executive of Norman Hay plc, commented, “The SIFCO-ASC business will benefit greatly from our Surface Technology contacts and locations both in the UK and overseas and we are excited about opportunities that we have already identified for its future growth”.

MEET OUR NEW TERRITORY MANAGER

AlexJachnyckySIFCO ASC welcomes Alex Jachnycky to the sales team.

Alex Jachnycky is a graduate of the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management. He will
draw on his years of sales experience, most recently working with Arrow Electrics as an On-site Customer Service Representative. SIFCO ASC is looking forward to utilizing his high energy and strong analytical abilities to help customers with their selective plating needs.

“How do I receive and store plating solutions?”

When the plating solutions arrive in your facility, you must segregate all cyanide solutions and store them in a secured storage area. Segregation of our other solutions is not necessary since they will not cause a hazardous or violent reaction if mixed together.

Once a dry place has been found to store the solutions, you should have a secondary containment system set up around the storage area in case any leaking occurs from the primary containment, typically the containers in which the product is shipped.

jumpdriveSecondary containment is usually necessary in order to prevent the substance from entering the environment. Options include surrounding the containers with absorbent material for liquids, storing the containers in over-pack drums or using commercially available secondary storage platforms called spill decks.

SIFCO ASC ADOPTS LOCAL FAMILIES

During the holiday season, SIFCO ASC participated in the annual Yuletide Adopt-A-Family Program and adopted two families. The program is coordinated by the Yuletide Hunger Program, an organization established in 1983. SIFCO ASC enjoys participating each year to help make the holidays a little brighter as local families receive their gifts just in time for Christmas.

We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our employees and are thankful for those who helped to exceed our goal in the amount of gifts contributed.
